The goal of Tinker Camp is to allow kids the opportunity to become inventors. Children are encouraged to take on interesting projects that explore their own creativity using real tools. During each week-long session kids will undertake a variety of challenges both presented by the instructors and created themselves. The might learn to build a motorized floor brush, create a boat powered by an electric toothbrush, design and build marble runs, create a go-cart or just tinker around in the lab to come up with their own invention. Kids will learn the safe use of real tools, like drills and saws and, and could build projects using a variety of other materials like electric motors, batteries, wood or electronics.

Kids should be be prepared to use their imagination -- be prepared to do a lot of experimenting -- be prepared to learn from failure and success. But mostly, your child should be prepared to have a lot of fun in a relaxed setting.

The camp will take advantage of both inside and outside areas providing an extraordinary setting to maximize creativity and to accommodate subtle differences in learning styles that children possess. By making available a safe and flexible environment, we hope to develop the tinker in your child, encouraging them to visualize and to create.
